"So here we are, in the greatest democracy on earth, with a national leader (and like it or not, Trump is now a “national leader”) standing behind a podium sounding like an authoritarian politician drunk with power. As an American, regardless of party, I’m shocked. I’ve come to expect this in other parts of the world. Not here at home. And Trump audaciously promises that if he is elected, this is how it’s going to be: “If you think I’m going to change, I’m not changing.” Ugh. One Erdogan on the world stage is enough."
